How We Serve

Without works, faith is not productive.  Actively serving is one way we show our commitment to and our understanding of Jesus’ instruction to love one another.  We want to take his instruction seriously.  We believe that God has provided exactly what we need to be the church He is calling us to be.  Here are some ways we do that:

    Fall Family Festival

The third Saturday of every September we host a Fall Family Festival on  the church lawn and parking lot.   All activities and food are offered to the community at not cost.   There is something for everyone in the family including a jumping castle, dunk tank, basketball shoot, pumpkin bowling, horseshoes, corn hole, and other games.  We serve cold and hot drinks, BBQ burgers and hot dogs and homemade pie!!!  This is a highlight for us and hope it is a highlight for our community to kick off the fall season.

    Christmas Eve Service

We know that Christmas Eve is a family time and yet, want to recognize the true reason we celebrate – the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, so we set aside about 30 minutes every Christmas Eve at 8:30pm  to do just that. For 35 years, we have hosted a Community Christmas Eve Service – always on the 24th of December at 8:30pm.  A candlelight service includes music, the reading of the Christmas story from the book of Luke along with other activities.

    Craft Bazaar

We host two craft bazaars every year. There are 20-25 vendors with craft items of all kinds from wood creations and ceramics to paintings and jewelry, plus baked goods for sale and raffle items. Spring bazaar is in April and the Holiday Bazaar in November – the first weekend on both months on Friday 9am to 4pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm.

    Egg Hunt

On the Saturday before Easter, we host a community egg hunt on the church grounds for kids ages 2-8. There are always lots of colorful eggs, prizes, cookies, craft and coloring activities and hot coffee for moms and dads while the kids are enjoying the activities.

    100 Little Miracles

Every year during the Christmas season, we share “100 Little Miracles” to those around us.    Individually and in groups, we share little miracles with those around us – sometimes people we know – sometimes complete strangers.  Everything from coffee cards to postal carriers, to shoveling sidewalks, to offering free meals… sharing something unexpected….sharing the gifts and abilities we have been blessed with to the bless the lives of other people around us.

    Safety

The safety of everyone who attends any event with us to be very important.  We do have a Child Protection Policy.  All workers, volunteers and staff working with youth and children must complete a Child Protection Training Course and complete an acceptable nationwide Background Check.
